So close

Where to begin??? It's been awhile since I wrote because something was in the works and I didn't want to jinx or jeopardize anything. Remember about a month ago when I went out for the contract role on a big soap? Well....turns out they liked me. And they wanted to screen test me for the role. And it was pretty exciting. With soaps, you sign your contract before the test so there isn't much I can really divulge. But the actual test was a lot of fun! They put you in hair and makeup, pick out your wardrobe, and it is like you have the job for the day. Well, you and the several other girls they test. Overall, I felt really good about how the day went and am proud that I got that far....but, in the end, I didn't get the part. The other girls who tested were all so nice and talented so I am excited to see who they offered the role to (there will be an official announcement from ABC). Whoever they picked got a life-changing call yesterday. It wasn't time for my life to change just yet. I was pretty bummed yesterday but today is a new day and this is just fuel to the fire. Getting so close just reinforces that I'm on the right path. You know who else auditioned for this same soap back in the day and didn't get the role? Julia Roberts. Everything happens for a reason, my friends...

In the weeks that I was preparing for my test, I did go on a few other auditions. I was called in for Entourage again, which was exciting. And I had a callback this week for a commercial. Not sure if they put anyone on avail yet but it would be a really fun spot to shoot, so fingers crossed.

With this newly-fueled-fire, I'm going to focus on finally getting my reel together. I just need to put all my commercials on one reel and my commercial reel will be set. And then I need to assemble clips from all the work I've done this year so far to make my theatrical reel happen. The short film I shot a few months back, True Love, is having its first screening tomorrow night so I'm hoping to get my footage from that soon. The Every Other Wednesday webisodes I guest starred in are scheduled to be edited and complete by the end of the week. And I'm going to see about getting the footage from my co-star role on the pilot TIPS. Can't wait to see how these all came together! And I can't wait to finally have my reel done!

And...new headshots are in order. I am researching photographers today and hoping to set up something soon. It is time for a fresh look and a fresh start.
